Smoked Trout Salad
Smoked trout salad can be made the way you make tuna salad or chicken salad. We like ours tangy, but you can certainly exchange the dill relish for sweet and leave out the capers. Adjust the mayo and sour cream to suit your taste preference for smooth and creamy or chunky and drier. Here is our favorite combination of ingredients. Bear in mind, these are all estimates. Taste the mixture and adjust as you wish.
Crumble about 20 trout filets into a bowl. This is enough for a family supper or a party appetizer.
Stir in 1/2 c. mayonnaise and 1/2 c. sour cream. Drizzle with yellow mustard. Add 1/4 c. finely chopped onion.
Season with 1 T horseradish, 1/2 c. dill relish, 2 T capers, and 2 T Worcestershire sauce.
Stir all ingredients and serve with crackers, over lettuce, or as a sandwich.
