Happy Valentine’s Day! Yesterday evening, after writing the fishing report for the morning outing, caught and released trout with a couple of friends, Greg and Julie, near Spider Creek. The power bait paste colors that we successfully used included chunky cheese, yellow, salmon peach and rainbow. Julie was very pleased with the bite and set herself a new record for the number of fish caught in one outing. Greg and I were pretty busy ourselves! This afternoon, I fished at Bertrand launch ramp from the bank, about halfway to Spider Creek. The fish seemed to like yellow, but totally ignored both rainbow and fluorescent orange. Fished for 20 or 30 minutes and caught 4. If you did not get out today, break out your long johns if fishing is in your plans tomorrow! There is no generation scheduled for tomorrow. The weather forecast is for a high temperature of 34 degrees F. under cloudy skies with winds from the east at 10 MPH, gusting to 17. There is sleet and ice scheduled for tomorrow afternoon beginning around 3. Hope you got out today and pulled a few in!
