Fished in a couple of spots this morning, beginning immediately below Beaver Dam. The trout bite there was about every 10 minutes, which would have driven me to drink, except that I had left my coffee on the kitchen island. RATS!! The fish bit on chunky cheese, and did so very softly. After half an hour of fooling around with them, I moved to the gravel bar downstream from the launch ramp near the dam. There were several folks bundled up fishing there. The bite at the gravel bar was much better, although still very soft. If one did not have an ultralite, it would have been difficult to know when the trout were nibbling. Only one other person hooked a fish while I was there, and he lost it as it got to the shoreline. Had to feel for him, since it looked like a nice one. I caught several on yellow and chunky cheese. They also bit on hatchery formula. Again, if it was not for the ultralite rod, I would not have felt the bite. It was a nice morning on the river, but a bit cool for the short sleeved shirt I had on. (And no coffee to boot!)There is generation scheduled from 2 through 7 PM. today. The high temperature for today is expected to reach 81 degrees F. under mostly sunny skies with NE winds at 5 MPH. Better get out there and catch a few. Oh, do not forget your coffee!
