Talk about getting a late start! Left to go to the river at 2 PM to try my luck with our finny friends. Initially, fished downstream from the launch ramp at Bertrand and, in the 20 minutes before the horn blew for generation, cast 7 times and caught 5. After the horn blew, moved to the ramp area and sat on the rocks upstream from the launch ramp and caught 4 more before deciding to head for home to prepare for a trip in the morning. The trout were biting on yellow, pink and chartreuse. The bite at the ramp was considerably slower than the bite farther downstream. The temperature was mild this afternoon, but the humidity was high enough to make sitting in the sun a little 'damp.' The water was moving slowly before I left, and the fish were still biting. Hope you made it out to enjoy the day. The generation was scheduled to begin at 7 PM, which, obviously, was only a suggested time, since the horn blew at 2:55 PM. The weather prediction called for a high temperature of 85 degrees F. under partly sunny skies with winds from the SSE at 9 MPH. There is a chance of showers tonight at 8. Also, there may be thundershowers at 6 and 7 AM tomorrow.
