Can you believe that we are halfway through the year?? Fished close to Beaver Dam at 6:30 this morning. The trout were extremely accommodating and ate everything except red and white baits. They bit on yellow, (slowly), rainbow, hatchery formula, green pumpkin, garlic, chunky cheese and fluorescent orange, (also slowly). The trout were nice sized, ranging from 11 1/2 to 12 1/2 inches. They did 'soft-mouth' the bait, causing one to have to pay close attention to the tip of the rod while waiting for the bite. Pausing for a sip of coffee was the method I used to cause a bite to occur. This was another catch and release day, so both the fish and I had a great morning! There is generation scheduled from 2 through 7 PM at 44% of capacity. The high temperature today is expected to reach 91 degrees F., under a hazy sun, with westerly winds of 6 MPH. Going out fishing is a wonderful way to escort June out and welcome in the month of July!
