Launched at Houseman Access this morning at 6 AM and moved downstream both to check the bite and try for some walleye. Trolled and jigged for a couple of miles down, then back up the river.  The water temperature down river from Blue Springs area was 71 degrees F.  Caught both trout and white bass, but no walleye.  Caught the trout deep, where the water was much cooler than the 71 degrees on the surface.   Fish we saw on the river were spawning carp, gar and largemouth bass.  We were back at Houseman Access, where the water temperature was 54 degrees F., by 8:30 AM. The day promises to be great for fishing, with a high temperature expected to be 87 degrees F.Generation is scheduled to be 44% of capacity from 1 PM to 8 PM. If you plan on fishing from the bank with bait, get there before the generation begins.  Have a great day fishing!

Another tough day of work.
