Fished this morning at Bertrand, a location which I have not tested for bite for quite a while. Areas near Bertrand have been on the list, but actually at the launch ramp... not so much. Sat on the rocks upstream from the ramp and within 20 minutes, using salmon peach power bait, had 8 bites resulting in 4 fish. At 8:11, the trout bite took a break. Finally put the last one on the stringer at 8:45 AM. There were two other groups of fisher-folk fishing closer to the ramp. One group left with no fish and the other had two when I left. They were using yellow power bait, which is very close in color to salmon peach. Go figure!Spoke with another guide who indicated that he had fished between Holiday Island and Beaver, trolling with a Rapala F-9 and had picked up a couple of walleye and some white bass. One of the walleye had to be thrown back. The generation schedule for today called for water to move at 5 and 6 PM. The weather gave us a high temperature of 86 degrees F. with partly cloudy skies and winds from the SSW at 10 MPH. Tomorrow, the generation is slated for 3 through 5 PM at 88% of capacity. The weather prediction calls for mostly sunny skies with a high temperature of 88 degrees F. and winds from the south at 10 MPH gusting to 13. Have fun fishing and remember to keep hydrate!
