What a great month for a dad and grandpa who happens to be a fishing guide. The first trip was with daughter from Minneapolis. Next, came son-in-law and grandson from Miami, FL. And after that, son and grandson from Salina, KS. What a good time! The final family trip was just yesterday. Our goal was to be sure grandson caught a fish and we were not disappointed. He felt the bite, set the hook, and reeled it in as long as his arms allowed! Grandpa did the cleaning and Grandma cooked it for supper. There is no better way to spend time with your children and grandchildren than enjoying the river. Generation tomorrow is scheduled for 4 p.m. and should end about 7 p.m. There won’t be much wind and a few clouds may help with the high temperature of 94 degrees. The bite was slow yesterday and there is not much shoreline available for bank fishing. The water temperature downstream is still warm, but the deep pools are cool enough for trout. Get in a boat and head to where the fish are. Power bait still works best for us, but plenty of rigs and baits are working these days.
