This morning we fished a bit downstream from the tail-waters and noted that the river current was moving upstream at a nice clip. Since there was only a small amount of generation over the weekend, the water temperature was marginal for a good trout bite. The trout were in the area and began to bite in earnest after the sun cleared the tree tops. Although they bit on pink and yellow, they really 'dug' rainbow. We only fished until 7:45 AM, since that old 'personal business' monster reared its ugly head. The fish we ended up with ranged from 13 1/2 to 15 inches in length. The bite leads one to believe that another great day on the river is before us!The generation for the day is scheduled to stretch from 3 PM through 7 PM at 44% of capacity for the first and last hour. The middle three hours will be at 88% of capacity. This should cool down the water outside of the tail-waters, leading to a better trout bite in the morning. The weather prediction calls for mostly sunny skies with a high temperature of 89 degrees F., and southerly winds at 5 MPH. You know what we endorse....GO FISH!
