Sorry to be late with this report, but between activity on the water and activity at home, the Friday fishing report slipped through the cracks. We launched two boats a bit later than usual, close to 7:30 am, but immediately began catching trout on power bait. We headed downstream and put several in the live well of each boat, then moved on further dowstream. The bite hadn’t slowed, but we wanted to add a bit of variety for our clients. We picked a shady spot and enjoyed watching the water roll by, while still catching fish. The bite was plentiful and allowed us to catch and release smaller fish back to their home to grow some more. The water is still so high that the area we used to call ’the shallows” is now ’the deep.” We didn’t spend any time using lures or trolling today since the ‘catching” part of “fishing’ went so well. We had the pleasure of limiting out before the real heat set in. The teenagers were the first ones back with their day’s catch, which were cleaned and bagged for them, then jumped in for more fish photos when the parents arrived. We wll put up some more photos of this trip in the next couple of days.
