Fishing Report for July 1 Launched at Houseman Access where the water temperature was 66.4 degrees F., and moved upstream into 48 degree water. The fishing was good, and we caught trout on orange, salmon peach, nymph grape and, in respect to the up-coming holiday, red-white-and blue power bait. Moved back downstream and fished below the tail-waters in 60 degree water. The bite was a bit slower, but the fish were pretty good sized. In order to find out what the trout were feeding on, kept one specimen that was 16 1/4 inches. Found that the fish had in its stomach, 46 shad minnows, (about 1 1/2 inches long), and 6 gar about 4 inches long. The water surface is covered with debris on much of the river, which makes trolling difficult. The generation schedule shows that from 4 and 6 PM, there will be water movement at 44% of capacity. The weather forecast for today calls for a high temperature of 85 degrees F. under partly cloudy skies with winds from the WSW at 7 MPH. Another GREAT day to be fishing!
