I know, I know, today is October 2nd, but here is the report that was supposed to have been written yesterday. Yesterday, Sam and I launched at Holiday Island Marina and trolled with Rapala CD 5s all the way to Beaver bridge. Although we marked some pretty nice fish on the bottom and some very impressive bait balls, the only fish we caught were bass. On the trip back, we decided to jig for those creatures on the bottom, using a shad minnow on one jig head and a fire tiger 4" plastic on the other. At 10:30 AM, we decided to strategically withdraw to home base. There was a great deal of surface activity when we arrived at the marina, but as the morning wore on, the activity decreased, which is to be expected. We did not fish today, due to that ogre called personal business. There is more of the same planned for tomorrow, but the plan is to fish first thing in the AM and report our findings. If you can get out to wet a line, maybe we will see you there! The generation today was from 3 through 5 PM. The weather gave us a high temperature of 86 degrees F. under partly sunny skies with southerly winds at 8 MPH. Tomorrow, the generation is scheduled from 2 through 6 PM. The weather is predicted to give us a high of 83 degrees F. under mostly cloudy skies with winds from the south at 9 MPH. There is a good chance of afternoon thunder showers around 3 PM.
