Launched at Houseman Access at 1 PM and proceeded up river to just downstream from Spider Creek Island. There were many boats on the river and all of the folks aboard wanted to know if we were catching any trout. We let them know that we were just beginning. All of them told us that the bite was terrible. Most of the boats had only one or two trout aboard. The next several hours left us with only one trout in the live well and three thrown back due to size. Finally moved out of the tail waters and downstream to a spot that made up for the previous five. Headed back to Houseman at 5:15 PM. The trout were biting on fluorescent orange, yellow and cheese. The young man in the pictures caught his first trout on this trip. Everyone was pleasantly surprised at the outcome of what began as a 'hard' fishing day! Tomorrow morning looks great for fishing, but it may be a bit windy. There is generation scheduled for 8 PM tonight and for 8 AM and 8 and 9 PM tomorrow. Tomorrow, the high temperature is expected to reach 74 degrees F,, under sunny skies with winds from the SSW at 15 MPH, gusting to 26. Later in the evening, around 8 PM, there are thunder showers expected.
