Began a late start fishing day just below Beaver Dam and had good luck using both salmon peach and yellow power bait paste. Moved to the Beaver Dam launch ramp where, once again, yellow and salmon peach paid off. Ran into a couple of avid fishermen, Tyler and Chad, who were launching their canoe in the rain and were planning a drift fishing adventure downstream to Spider Creek. They indicated that days like this definitely tend to reduce crowds on the river. Good for you two! Moved to Parker Bend and found that the fish were biting at the wheelchair ramp as well as downstream a few hundred yards. In addition to the aforementioned colors, orange was a 'hot' bait at Parker. After the rain let up, several more fishermen appeared. Moved back to the Beaver Dam area and helped a couple rig for trout fishing the river. The rest of the day appears to be shaping up to be a great fishing opportunity. Go out....have fun! There is only one hour of generation scheduled for 4 PM today. The weather prediction for the day promises a high temperature of 71 degrees F. under cloudy skies with winds of 4 MPH from the SSE this morning, shifting to the west later in the day. There is a chance of afternoon showers, so do not forget to take some rain gear!
