DSC_0031Launched this morning at 6:30 and tried to find some cooler water in which to try our luck. The bite was pretty good until around 8:30 AM, when the trout took a break to digest our stolen bait. The river was pretty misty, which made for a mild morning and a more pleasant summer trip. Once again, the trout were in their 'soft-mouthing' mode. Our advice is to keep the slack out of the line. In fact, if you can slightly move the bait by SLOW, but not constant, reeling, you may increase your chances of putting a trout in the live well, or on a stringer, if you are fishing from the bank. We finished up at around 8AM and headed in. We have marked the occasional walleye in our travels, but we have not tried to catch them. Maybe next time. Hope to see you out there on the river! There is generation scheduled from 3 through 6 PM. today. The predicted high temperature is 95 degrees F., under sunny skies with SSW winds at 8 MPH. Do not forget to stay hydrated in this heat! Have fun catching the rainbows!!
