DSC_0022 DSC_0009Launched at Houseman Access at 6 AM and proceeded upstream to Spider Creek area and checked to see if the trout were awake. The bite was pretty slow in the area of Bertrand launch ramp, but picked up slightly below Spider Creek Island. Fished between Spider Creek and the Hwy 62 bridge and learned that the trout bit on orange, yellow and salmon peach. They totally ignored rainbow, nymph grape and spring green. Had a visit from our friends at Fish and Game and would have liked to pester them for a while, 'chewing the fat,' but they had a bunch of work ahead of them, since the river was filled with boats. At least they had a beautiful morning on the river that early in the AM. The water temperature from Bertrand to the Hwy 62 bridge was 47.5 degrees F., perfect for trout. The bite was somewhat slow but we did good. Headed for home at 10 AM, missing the coming afternoon heat. If you get the opportunity, get out and wet a line!Generation is scheduled to take place from 3 to 6 PM, the first hour at 44% of capacity and the remaining hours at 88%. The weather prediction for today calls for a high temperature of 91 degrees F. under mostly sunny skies with winds from the SW at 8 MPH. Have fun and watch out for each other!
