Fishing Report for April 28
This morning we fished at several spots from the bank beginning just below the Beaver Dam and ending at Parker Bend. Noted that, unlike the past couple of days, there were no white bass evident. The passing of the front probably has something to do with the fish moving back downstream. They will be back to continue their spawning activity, probably real soon. Yesterday evening about at 6:30, we launched at Houseman Access and caught both whites and trout. Of course, this was before the front passed through. Today, the trout were hitting on the blue on silver spoon. The best results we had were at the area of the launch ramp closest to the Beaver Dam. We had some luck at Parker Bend, but not nearly as much as at the ramp area. We only ran into one other fishing family at each Parker and the dam. Nobody else was at the 'canebreak'. Keep in mind that the paddlefish snagging season is in full swing until June 15th. (Season opened April 15th.) If you are taking part in this type of fishing, please review the regulations on page 77 of the Arkansas Fishing Guidebook. Generation today is to resume from 12 PM through 3 PM at 44% of capacity. The high temperature is expected to reach 71 degrees F. under partly sunny skies with winds from the SSW at 12 MPH.
