Yesterday we fished at the gravel bank below the launch ramp closest to Beaver Dam and found that the trout were extremely glad to see us. Today, I thought that I would revisit the gravel bar to see if this activity was a 'fluke' or was the real thing. It was real! If you want a place that very few folks have begun to fish, probably because of the high water, this is it. The trout were biting on lighter colors, except for rainbow and garlic. They totally ignored the darker colors like hatchery formula and nymph grape. There were no other fishermen on scene for the two hours I was 'parked' in my chair drinking coffee and feeding trout. The morning was mild and a bit foggy which resulted in comfortable fishing conditions. I did not try Parker Bend or Bertrand Launch Ramp. There is generation scheduled from 3 through 6 PM. today. The high temperature predicted for today is 87 degrees F., under mostly sunny skies. The winds will be southerly at 7 MPH.
