Sam launched at Bertrand Launch Ramp at 6:45 this morning and moved down river to try a couple of his favorite spots. While the bite at the ramp was OK this morning, it was nothing like the first anchorage that Sam picked to begin his trip. While the trout bite slowed to a stop at the ramp as soon as the sun peaked over the opposite bank, it continued between Bertrand and Spider Creek Island. As one can tell from the photos, the folks on board were pretty happy to have been fishing with the trout whisperer. Note that a white bass decided to throw it in with those rainbows. After fishing with power bait for a bit, Sam and company trolled farther downstream and caught both trout and the white. The morning was cool and made what is usually a pleasant experience even more enjoyable. If you did not get to go out this morning and can manage it tomorrow morning, we recommend that you do it! If you need a guide, call us!The generation schedule calls for water to begin to move at 4 PM, and continue through 6. The high temperature for the day is expected to make it to 89º F. under partly sunny skies with a chance of mid-afternoon thundershowers. Winds will be southerly at 7 MPH.
