Contrary to rumors, I've not gone 'toes up,' just been too lazy to write a report for the last three days. Fished on Saturday at White Bass Cove and was 'skunked' on the white bass. The whites are pretty much the same in the lake as they are in the river; that is, some days they are there and the next, they are elsewhere. If you are fishing from the bank, you cannot go search for them. Sunday, we fished on the river near Beaver Dam and began catching trout just when the Corps blew the horn to generate....three hours before the posted schedule. That is not a complaint, since the schedule is subject to change without notice. It would have been nice if they had blown the horn before they began their generation instead of after since we were fishing 100 yards below the dam. At least we saw the water begin to come out from under the dam. They did sound the warning horn about 4 minutes after they began to generate. This morning fishing in the river near the dam started off 'hot' for the first three trout. Within 10 minutes, three were on the stringer. After that, it took 40 minutes to catch the last two. Guess the fish needed a coffee break! So did I, so it was back to the Hosanna Hills fish cleaning station. There were no other fishermen on location for the time I fished this morning. Since it should be a great day to fish, if you are not working, go wet a line! Generation for today is scheduled from 3 through 5 PM. The high temperature for the day should be 77º F. under mostly cloudy skies with a chance of afternoon thunder showers. The winds are from the SSE at 8 MPH.
