Launched this morning at 6:15 and proceeded towards the Beaver Dam as far as a little upstream from the Hwy 62 bridge. Found that the fishing was fairly slow there, except for the 16 inch rainbow that the lady of the group tossed into the live well. Moved back downstream to a spot that has treated us good in the past and caught a few trout to add to the well. Since the horn at the Beaver Dam had blown, we moved out of the tailwaters and fished near Blue Springs, where the bite at the time seemed to be non-existent. We decided to change strategy and troll toward Beaver. After a mile or so in both directions with not even a strike, we went back to bait. Once again near Blue Springs, we added trout to the live well, one that was 14 inches and another that was 18. After all was said and done, although we fought moving water, chilling breeze and slow bite, good company made for a great trip. We did pretty good with the trout, too. The high temperature for today is predicted to be 66º F. under cloudy skies with ENE winds of 10 MPH. Generation was from 8 through 9 AM and will restart this afternoon at 3 and continue through 6 PM. Dress warmly, go out and have fun fishing!
