Sam and I launched at Houseman Access at 9:30 this morning with the express purpose to go catch fish.....err, or was it to test our new outboard? Hmm, that is a tough one, as one can see from the picture. We tried trolling for the first hour, but noted that the water temperature 2 miles down river was 44 degrees F.. No whites were caught or marked. Moved back to the Houseman area and bait fished for trout. All of the trout taken home were of pretty good size; and, if we had been in the tailwaters, we would have had to throw most of them back. Happily enough, we were not! There were only two other boats that we encountered, one with a guide who indicated that he had caught two walleye early in the morning, and another with three fishermen aboard, none of whom had caught anything. The high temperature touched 68 degrees F. today, under mostly sunny skies, with northerly winds of 6 to 10 MPH. Tomorrow, the high is predicted to reach 75 degrees F., under mostly sunny skies with winds from the NNW at 6 MPH, gusting to 9. Forget the rain gear, pack the sun lotion!
