Sam and I grabbed a couple of cups of coffee along with some chairs and moved in on the fish hiding at Spider Creek. We noted that we were able to walk downstream from Bertrand Launch Ramp without getting ouR feet wet. The bite at the ramp was, well, poor. However the bite downstream towards Spider Creek Resort was pretty good. Not GREAT, but OK. That is a judgement based on the fact that we ran out of coffee before we could have limited out had we been keeping fish. The trout ranged in size from 'nursery size' to 14 or so inches. There are some good sized fish in that area, based on the bite taken out of the largest trout we caught. OUCH! The fish bit on yellow, salmon peach, fluorescent red, rainbow and pink. They wanted nothing to do with the darker colors like green pumpkin and hatchery formula. Needless to say, it was a fantastic morning to be on the river! There is generation slated from 1 through 6 PM. today. The expected high temperature is 79 degrees F., under sunny skies with winds from the north at 9 MPH. Stop reading this, grab a rod and head for the fishing spot you've been thinking of all day!
