Launched both boats at 6:30 this morning and had a leisurely cruise upstream as far as Spider Creek Island where we found that there was very little water. Moved back downstream to a couple of holes between the island and Hwy 62 bridge and began catching a few trout on yellow, chartreuse and salmon peach. We also caught fish half way between the Hwy 62 bridge and Houseman Access. One of them is the 17 1/2 inch rainbow shown in the photo. The bite was very slow this morning, but we managed to bring home some pretty nice fish. The water temperature near the Hwy 62 bridge was 47.8 degrees F. The trout seemed to have spread themselves out along the river all the way down to the Houseman Access area, where the water was 49.5 degrees F. We fished until 11:45 AM and decided that the rising heat was winning the 'game.' Be sure to stay hydrated if you go out in this heat. The generation for today is scheduled to begin at 2 PM and go through 7. 88% capacity is planned for all but the final hour, seven PM. The weather prediction calls for a high temperature of 96 degrees F. under mostly sunny skies with winds from the ESE at 5 MPH.

That's a 17 1/2 inch rainbow trout.

All smiles over a nice stringer of fish!
