Well, color me lazy for not writing a report for 2-10-15! Yesterday, Sam and I launched at Houseman and motored up past Beaver to check on the channel and water depth/boat accessibility. Once we were halfway between Beaver and Holiday Island, we trolled for walleye or whatever else was inclined to bite. We caught bass and trout, but no walleye. Research! It can really wear one out! We did mark some walleye on the bottom, but did not try jigging.Today, I tried both Parker Bend and Bertrand launch area. Bertrand was the most active of the two areas. Trout were caught on all seven of the colors used. The quickest bite was on pink, followed closely by extra strength yellow and salmon peach. Rainbow, garlic, yellow and hatchery formula were the other colors tested. The slowest bite was on hatchery formula. The wind was pretty cold after the sun disappeared; and it succeeded in driving me back to the truck. There is generation scheduled for tomorrow at 7 through 8 AM and 7 PM. The high temperature for tomorrow is expected to reach 34 degrees F. under clear skies with winds from the NNE at 9 MPH, gusting to 16. Brrr! I believe my plans are to stay by the fire! However, if you go out to try your luck, dress warm and take lots of hot drinks!
