All 7 gates have been open at Beaver Dam for over 24 hours now with both generators running. Gates were open 9 1/2 feet and dumped 680,000 gallons of water per second when this picture was taken yesterday. Today they are open 5 feet, just under 400,000 gallons per second. Some homes are flooded and others are cut off due to bridge closings. Needless to say we cancelled our fishing trips yesterday and turned down trips for later this week! As soon as water levels are under control we'll be back on the river to mark the new "flood designed" banks and river bottoms.
Happy New Year to all. Stay safe. We hope to see you on the river in 2016.
