We launched in the Beaver area this morning at 7 and picked up a few whites and a trout in Butler Creek. Although we marked a few schools of whites, they were not very excited about biting. Ran into another guide in the Butler Creek cove and he was having the same type of luck. The water temperature in the cove was 63 degrees F., perfect for encouraging the whites to get with it. Fish! Sam and I decided to check out a couple of other spots between Beaver and Holiday Island. We moved down river and into Tablerock Lake and marked a few schools of whites and several boats with frustrated fishermen trying to lure the fish into their live wells. We did see one guy actually get lucky and put one in the boat. He was using what looked like a black on silver Rapala, CD-9. We caught ours on a black on silver Rapala, CD-5s. The water temperature in the river/lake up as far as Holiday Island was 55 degrees F. Although we did not fish for trout this morning, we may go out later this afternoon and wet a line. Hope to see a few of you out there! Today there is generation scheduled from 7 through 10 PM. The high temperature for this fine day is expected to be 60 degrees F., under mostly sunny skies with winds from the WNW at 17 MPH.
