On Saturday, we launched at Bertrand on a fly fishing expedition with two experienced fly fishermen in the boat. First we tried four spots downstream and were successful at landing trout on various wet flies. Moving upstream was also rewarded! Normally when Sam guides, he concentrates on assisting clients and handling the boat. This time, at the client’s insistence, he tried his luck with an antique bamboo fly rod. He also managed to landing a few trout and may be a new convert to fly fishing. What a fun day for all. No generation is on the schedule for Monday and the rain chances are slight. Trout seem plentiful and the occasional white wanders upriver, though not in large numbers. Come to the river and enjoy spring in the Ozarks.
