Over the past few days, we have been fishing from the bank in several areas from Beaver Dam to Parker Bend and as far downstream as Houseman Access by boat. As far as bank fishing, the best trout fishing we experienced was from the gravel bar by river access 1 (launch ramp closest to the dam) to the area closest to the dam. Parker Bend access ramps have been very slow in the bite arena when compared to the gravel down river about 150 yards. The bite at Parker is slow compared to that of the trout up river. The good news is that, at least for us, the trout are not too particular as to what color they are thrown. For those of you who are fishing from your boats, the trout bite above the Hwy 62 bridge far surpasses that of the downstream, Walleye are still in the area above the bridge for those of us who are willing to take the time to tempt them to hit a jigged Rapala. With the water temperature on the up-tick, there should be some white bass activity very soon. Our advice is to get out there and try your luck! The high temperature for today is predicted to be 68º F. under sunny skies with NW winds of 14 MPH. Generation this morning was from 7 through 8. Tomorrow, the generation is slated from 7 through 9 AM. The winds should be a bit less at 9 MPH. We plan on being out to 'wet a line' and hope to see you.
