Fished both yesterday and today with excellent results in those places selected to wet a line. Yesterday, I fished just downstream from Bertrand Launch Ramp and caught fish about every 3 minutes. Not too bad, since the stock truck had not yet arrived to add to the trout population. Stocking did happen later in the morning, so if you could not catch fish after they left, maybe knitting would be a better hobby!? If you launch at Bertrand, do not count on being able to move down river past Spider Creek Island unless you want to get out of your boat and walk it across the VERY SHALLOW gravel/rock bank. That includes those of you who have a jet motor.
This morning, I fished at the gravel bar closest to Beaver Dam. I used six different colors and, in short order, caught six fish. Colors used were yellow, salmon peach, rainbow, garlic, fluorescent orange and chunky cheese. The bite was fine and everyone who was fishing there was catching fish. Hope you can make some time in your schedule to enjoy a fine morning fishing.
Generation is on the agenda for 2 through 5 PM today. The high temperature for today is expected to be a comfortable 79º F. under partly cloudy skies. Winds are northeasterly at 6 MPH.
