We launched this morning at about 7 AM and trolled a couple of Flicker Shads downstream past the Blue Springs outlet to the river. We caught one 'smalleye' of 17 1/2 inches. Drat, he was UN-stretchable! Then came a couple of pretty nice rainbows. The largest was 22 1/2 inches and weighed 5 pounds. The next one was 19 inches and hit the scales at 2 pounds 14 ounces. We then moved back into the tailwaters to finish up with the trout limit. After all was said and done, we had caught 15 trout and a walleye, of which, five trout and the walleye were returned to the river. We had a great time on the river and only got sprinkled on at 10:30. Pulled the boat, cleaned the fish and, after the clients had left with their ‘bounty,’ got thoroughly rained on while cleaning the boat. Timing is everything!
Generation is scheduled for 5 PM and only for one hour. The high temperature for today is predicted to be 79º F. under mostly cloudy skies with afternoon and evening thundershowers. The wind is from the east at 6 MPH. Watch out for the lightning!
