Here is the final report of the past couple of days fishing. As we wrote earlier, the heavy generation schedule has made “catching” a bit more difficult at times, but many of the fish caught recently have been of good size. One of our boats fished downriver from Houseman Access trolling for walleye briefly and snagged the 20 incher in this photo. Heading upriver brought us some nice trout, both rainbow and brown. The thrill of the day was a 28 inch, 8.7 lb. brown trout. Here is the biggest surprise of all: all of these fish were caught by an 8-year-old boy, accompanied on this trip by his dad and younger brother. He hooked them, then reeled them into the boat. There must be a lot of muscle in those young arms. Little brother caught a few rainbows that were returned to the river, and Dad worked the net! And to think that at the start of the trip, these folks said they just wanted a couple of trout to cook for supper!
