Took a couple on a river tour which began and ended at Holiday Island Marina with points in between including Beaver and other spots up river. We checked with multiple boats on their fishing success and learned that nobody was putting the 'meat' on the deck. We marked impressive schools of white bass on the fish-finder, some of which covered the entire screen. We also marked a few walleye on the bottom. The water temperature was 47.1º F. all the way into Missouri. That may have been why the whites were not being cooperative. The trip started off a bit on the cool side at 35º and ended at about 2PM at 49º. The interesting part about river tours is that one can learn quite a bit about the fish status, even if you are not fishing. If you hit the river in your boat, fish the eddys or maintain a stationary troll and pick up some trout. The generation schedule for at least the next three days is for 24 hours/day 80% capacity. The water will be kept at the 47º range until the Corps of Engineers decides that the flood pool is at an acceptable level or until Beaver Lake is empty. ( A little humor ). The high temperature for Saturday and Sunday should be in the 60º range. The winds are expected to remain in the single digits. Go out and have fun fishing!
